A picture is said to be worth a thousand words!

So every Sunday, a photograph, drawing, painting or other work of art is posted here in the hope that it will inspire writers to draft fiction or nonfiction blog posts or articles, short stories, novels, poems, limericks, haiku or …

Perhaps the prompt enhances, explains, illustrates or otherwise dovetails with a post, even though the post itself is not technically about or devoted to the prompt. That’s great, too.

All visual prompts are linked to their source and available for you to post on your site, as well. Simply hold your mouse pointer over the visual prompt and right-click. You will be able to both save a copy of the image and the source link so that you may provide the creator and owner with proper attribution.

The prompts are published every Sunday morning at midnight (Pacific time), but participants may post their work at any time, utilizing Mr. Linky to advise other participants and visitors.  Write and publish a post in response to any prompt at any time, as Mr. Linky will always be available, and you can also trackback or leave a comment so that other participants can find your latest writing effort.

NoteThere is no word minimum, limit or requirement.  Stated differently, you need not write at least, a minimum of, or not more than a thousand words.  The meme is derived from and inspired by the cliche — but not limited by it!  In other words, there are no rules or constraints.  Your writing is limited only by your imagination, creativity, time constraints, the manner in which you are inspired by the prompts or other personal factors, but not by these guidelines.

This site exists for the purpose of building a community of supportive writers who will get acquainted with one another, visit each others’ sites, engage in discussion, offer constructive feedback, and — most importantly — encourage each other in their writing endeavors.
